Home invasion in Port Dover leaves one injured

Provincial police in Norfolk County are searching for a second suspect after a mid-day home invasion in Port Dover.

At around 12:15 p.m. Friday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a home on Thomson Drive after it was reported that a pair of suspects had forced their way into the dwelling while an occupant was inside.

During the raid, police say the victim was assaulted, and the suspects then made off with some items before fleeing.

The occupant suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Officers with the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team arrived and one suspect was located and arrested. Police continue to search for the second suspect.

OPP believe the invasion was targeted. However, the incident remains under investigation. Officers are reminding the public to be aware of their surroundings at all times to ensure their safety. Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
