Woman charged for beating husband with coffee mug

A St. Thomas woman has been charged in a Christmas 2020 assault that left her husband with a head injury.

Police say the man reported that he was hit in the head with a coffee mug a dozen times. The attack left him with a head injury that required medical attention months later.

A 72-year-old woman was arrested in relation to the incident on Wednesday.

She is charged with assault causing bodily harm and has since been released from police custody with a future court date.
