Dorchester's only grocery store damaged by fire

The only grocery store in Dorchester will be closed for an as yet undetermined amount of time after it was heavily damaged by fire.

Fire crews and the Ontario Provincial Police were called to the Foodland on Dorchester Road early Thursday morning. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the fire.

However, damage appears to be significant. An official damage estimated is not yet known.

According to a tweet from the Western Region OPP, the cause of the blaze appears to be "an electrical malfunction." Police don't believe the fire was suspicious in nature.

Anyone with information is asked to call Middlesex OPP.
