Charges laid after tractor-trailer loses tires on Hwy. 401

A potentially deadly incident on Highway 401 outside of London has left a Melbourne resident facing charges.

Middlesex OPP were called to the eastbound lanes of the highway near Dorchester Road after a tractor-trailer lost two of its wheels just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to police, the wheels were from the trailer of the commercial vehicle. Amazingly, they did not smash into any vehicles on the busy highway and the driver was able to pull off without further incident.

A 39-year-old from Melbourne has been charged with wheel separation of a commercial vehicle and failing to carry an inspection schedule.
