Deck fire caused by carelessness

The London Fire Department is warning people to be aware when butting out where ever they happen to be smoking.

The words of warning come after firefighters responded to a deck fire early Saturday morning on Sarnia Road. After extinguishing the flames, the fire investigator determined that the fire was caused by carelessly discarded smoking materials.

"Please be aware where you butt out," fire officials advised in a post to social media.

Damage to the property is estimated to be worth $30,000. No injuries have been reported.
