Five hurt in crash near St. Thomas

A two-vehicle crash south of St. Thomas sent five people to hospital, one with serious injuries, over the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of John Wise Line and Fairview Road around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday where a sedan and an SUV had collided.

One person in the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while another suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Three people in the SUV also suffered non-life threatening injuries that required hospital treatment.

The crash kept the intersection closed for several hours, but it has since reopened.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing, Elgin OPP said.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
