Man accused of flashing young girls in public charged

London police have issued a public safety warning after a man was arrested earlier this month for alleged indecent acts in Hyde Park.

In both incidents, the accused is said to have exposed himself to young girls at a shopping centre on Fanshawe Park Road near Hyde Park Road with their families.

Police say the first interaction happened on July 4 at around 1:15 p.m. The girl reportedly witnessed a man expose himself to her, and then he took off from the store. The victim told her family what happened, and police were contacted afterwards.

Just over a week later, at around 4 p.m. on July 12, another young girl was at the same store with her family when a man exposed himself to her. Police were again notified.

The following day, on July 13, a London man was identified and arrested. He has since been identified by police as 68-year-old John Lindsay Bayer. He is charged with two counts of indecent exposure to a person under 16.

Investigators have reason to believe there may be other victims and have released a photo of Bayer, who remains in police custody after he appeared in court last Friday.

Anyone with information, or who may have been a victim of a similar incident, is asked to call the London Police Service at 519-661-5670.
