Nation-wide arrest warrant issued for Woodstock doctor in child porn investigation

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a Woodstock doctor who was charged with several child pornography-related offences earlier this month.

On Thursday, the Woodstock Police Service announced it authorized a nation-wide arrest warrant for 58-year-old Dr. Robert Stern of Woodstock.

The arrest warrant follows an investigation the was conducted in early July. On July 7, officers conducted a search warrant at a home in Woodstock. One week later, police announced as a result of that search, charges including distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography were laid against Stern.

Stern has been a family physician in Woodstock since 1991.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
