Civic holiday closures and happenings in London

The Civic long weekend has arrived and with it comes a few closures and some fun events to keep the family occupied.

Those with the day off on Monday can spend it in Victoria Park taking in the first restriction-free RibFest since the pandemic began. Monday is the final day of the five-day festival. Ten ribbers and 24 craft beer and distillers have set-up on Wellington Street between Dufferin Avenue and Wolfe Street. There are also midway rides and a variety of other vendors inside the downtown park.

It will be a perfect day for any and all outdoor activities, as Environment Canada is calling for sunshine and a high of 29 C on Monday.

People looking to beat the heat, can venture to one of the city run spray pads, wading pools or outdoor pools. Most are open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. A list of the city’s spray pads and their activation buttons can be found by clicking here.

Fanshawe Pioneer Village will be holding Emancipation Day Celebrations at 1:00 p.m. The day will include live music and presentations about London's Black history.
