UPDATE: Police arrest man accused of sexual assault

London police say they have a man in custody after a pair of incidents where a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted and another was propositioned in the city's northeast end.

The first reported assault happened on Tuesday at around 5:45 p.m. A woman was walking along a trail on Grenfell Drive, east of Adelaide when she came across an unknown man on a bicycle. The man is said to have started up a conversation with the woman before grabbing her. He then took off from the area on his bike however, the woman managed to snap a photo of him before he disappeared.

Just over an hour later, police were contacted at around 7:10 p.m. for a report involving a teenaged girl, who told officers she was approached by a man who offered her money for sexual services. Police say this incident happened near the area of where the first assault took place.

Neither of the women were injured during the encounters.

Early Friday evening, police confirmed a man has been arrested in relation to the incidents.

No other details have been provided and the investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
