Police arrest suspect in east London stabbing

A man accused of stabbing another to death in an east London parking lot last weekend has been taken into custody.

Last week, London police identified 27-year-old Antony Centeno-So as a suspect in the murder of 31-year-old Devon Cherrey-Rooke, who was found suffering from a critical stab wound in the Home Depot parking lot at around 6:30 a.m. August 7.

Centeno-So was charged by way of warrant of arrest for second degree murder. On Monday afternoon, police announced he has been arrested and remains in police custody.

Last Sunday, police initially reported that a victim was found injured in the area of Dundas Street and Clarke Road and was taken to hospital where he later died. Cherrey-Rooke was publicly identified as the victim on the following Tuesday. They also confirmed his cause of death was from a stab wound.

In his obituary, Cherrey-Rooke's family said he will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends.

"Devon loved writing and making music, singing and dancing, fashion and basketball," his obituary read.

Centeno-So is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
