Fanshawe partnering with student rental website

In an effort to help students returning to in-person learning this fall find an affordable place to live, Fanshawe College has teamed up with an off-campus rental website.

The college announced its partnership with Places4Students.com this week. The decision to join forces with the off-campus housing service comes as demand for accommodations continues to grow in London, Simcoe, St. Thomas, and Woodstock - communities with Fanshawe campuses.

“Housing is a big concern for a lot of students preparing to start post-secondary in London. It was clear that we needed to provide our students with more options for off-campus housing and an easier way to search and be notified of new listings,”  David Smith, the college's director of retail services overseeing off-campus housing, said in a statement. “Places4Student.com is helping us address that need to better serve our students.”

According to the college, Place4Students.com offers students a user-friendly and fully accessible online directory to search for off-campus housing, find a roommate, and post sublets. Listings on the site are current and include photos, amenity icons, and floor plans. The listings can also be sorted by price, preferred features, and other specific requirements, and are verified to confirm their legitimacy.

Through the website, landlords will also be able to advertise directly to Fanshawe students.

Place4Students.com was established in 2003. Since then it has partnered with more than 190 colleges and universities throughout North America with over 134,500 landlords and property managers advertising their rental vacancies to students.
