GM issues recall for hundreds of thousands of SUVs over seat belt issue

If you drive a 2021 or 2022 Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, Cadillac Escalade or GMC Yukon, you might want to take it to the dealership.

General Motors issued a recall for those models after finding out about a problem with the third-row seat belt.

The rivet that keeps the buckle in the mounting bracket on the left or right side may not have been manufactured properly.

If it's not riveted properly in place, it may not be able to restrain passengers in a crash.

Multiple reports suggest that 484,000 vehicles in the U.S. are impacted.

General Motors Authority, a publication for GM enthusiasts, reported no injuries associated with the recall.

The company will start sending out notices to vehicle owners in late September.
