Police looking for suspects after truck bed fire in Elgin County

OPP in Elgin Countty are asking for the public's help after a fire.

Wednesday evening just after 10:30, police went to a home on Talbot Line in Central Elgin.

Investigators say suspects went to the home and started a fire in the back of a pickup truck. The fire eventually spread o the house, but was quickly extinguished by the home owner

It was determined that unknowns attended the address and poured a substance into the rear bed of a pickup truck and then started a fire which then spread to the residence. The owner of the home heard a noise and came outside and immediately extinguished the fire.

Nobody was hurt.

A dark coloured SUV was seen driving away from the home after the fire, heading west on Talbot Line.

This is the second time somebody has tried to set the same truck on fire.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call OPP, or St. Thomas-Elgin Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
