Indecent act reported at conservation area in Aylmer

Elgin County provincial police are investigating after a young man reportedly followed a woman while committing an indecent act at a conservation area in Aylmer.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers were called shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday by a woman who told police about a man that followed her as she walked her two dogs along the trails in the Springwater Conservation Area in Aylmer.

During the encounter, the man allegedly began to engage in an indecent act. Police say the woman screamed at the suspect and he ran off into the woods in an unknown direction.

The man is described as a teenager with curly light brown hair. He was wearing a black and light grey t-shirt and jeans.

Investigators continue to look into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Elgin County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be sent to www.helpsolvecrime.com.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
