Elderly Aylmer man charged with indecent act, criminally harassing neighbour

A 75-year-old Aylmer man is facing serious charges for allegedly showing his 23-year-old neighbour some unwanted attention.

Aylmer police were called to a home on Tarry Parkway to investigate a report of ongoing harassment around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Police determined a 75-year-old man had been continuously harassing the 23-year-old man that lives next door by repeatedly engaging in unwanted conversation.

They specifically note an incident alleged to have occurred in July 2019 in which the elderly man was observed "masturbating and engaging in unwanted sexual conversation" with the younger neighbour.

A 75-year-old man from Aylmer is charged with criminal harassment and committing an indecent act.

Police did not release the name of the accused.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
