Drugs seized after single-vehicle crash in northeast London

Charges have been laid against two London men after a single-vehicle crash led to a drug bust in the northeast end of the city.

The vehicle was heading north on Highbury Avenue near Huron Street when it hit a light pole in the median around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

A London police officer, who was on the north side of the intersection, witnessed the collision.

A passenger ran from the crumpled vehicle, but was located by police a short time later. A bag containing six grams of suspected cocaine was seized, police said.

The drugs are valued at $600.

Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police determined the driver had a suspended licence.

A 25-year-old London man is charged with operating a vehicle while prohibited and careless driving.

A 32-year-old London man is charged with one count of possession of drugs.

Damage from the crash is estimated at approximately $25,000, police said.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
