UPDATE: London police locate missing woman

Update: London police announced just after 11 a.m. Saturday morning that Melissa Holmes had been found and is safe.

London police are asking the public for help as they look to locate a missing 39-year-old woman.

Melissa Holmes was last seen in the area of Tecumseh Avenue east and Wharncliffe Road south at around 2 p.m. Friday.

She was reported missing to police Friday night.

Holmes is described as a white woman, about five-foot-five, and weighing around 300 pounds. She was last seen wearing a light-coloured shirt, black leggings, and a cross-body purse.

Police said her family is concerned for her wellbeing.

Anyone with information in relation to the missing person’s whereabouts is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
