London woman wins over $77k on lotto scratcher

A young London woman said her lucky number helped her win a prize of over $70,000 on an instant scratch ticket.

Vitoria Moreira said she jumped for joy after she discovered she won a top prize of $77,777 on a $5 Diamond 7s game. The 27-year-old stay at home mom said she prefers playing scratch tickets for the suspense of the game.

"I usually purchase Instant tickets with the number 7 – it’s my lucky number," said Moreira while picking up her prize in Toronto. "I knew I won right away, but I still had to check with the OLG App three times."

Moreira said her husband was the first person she told about the win.

"Even though I told him I already scanned it three times, he still had to check himself," she said.

When asked how she plans to spend her winnings, Moreira said she plans to take care of business by paying off her car and investing in her children's future.
