Man in hospital after shooting in northeast London

London police are probing an early morning shooting in the northeast-end that sent one man to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Emergency crews were called after shots were heard on Flanders Row, south of Highbury Avenue and Cheapside Street around 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday.

Officers found a man with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An undescribed suspect in the incident took off before police arrived.

Investigators do not believe the shooting was random.

The investigation has been turned over to the major crime section.
