Delhi woman killed after crash in Tillsonburg identified

Investigators have identified an elderly woman who died after she was involved in a crash in Tillsonburg late Sunday morning.

The collision happened at around 11:30 a.m. according to Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Simcoe Street and Mall Road for a two vehicle crash. Paramedics arrived and took the driver of one of the vehicles to a nearby trauma hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver, identified by police as 79-year-old Mary Camilleri of Delhi, died in hospital from her injuries. The other driver was also taken to hospital as a precaution, though that individual is said to have not suffered any injuries.

OPP closed the area for several hours on Sunday while members of the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team investigated and cleared the scene.
