Police investigating gunfire at east London townhome complex

Investigators are looking into a shooting at townhouse complex in east London that left one person wounded.

At around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, an altercation occurred in a residential parking lot on Bonaventure Drive north of Admiral Drive. During this time, London police say a firearm was discharged and one person was hurt.

The incident initially went unreported according to police officials. London police officials were notified about the shooting the next day on Sunday, when officers were sent to do a welfare check on an individual at the same complex.

Officers, who were unaware of the shooting at the time, arrived and found evidence that someone was injured in the parking lot. A victim was not located during the check. During an investigation, police learned that a man was in hospital with "significant injuries".

The investigation is ongoing. London police are asking that anyone who may have been in the 100-block of Bonaventure Drive on Saturday between 3 and 3:30 p.m., or those who may know what transpired, to call police at 519661-5670 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Tips can also be sent online to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
