Lane restrictions to slow traffic on Oxford Street this week

Drivers on Oxford Street should prepare for some traffic delays while travelling on the main artery this week.

Starting Monday, Oxford just west of Wharncliffe Road will have temporary lane restrictions each day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for private utility work.

"Drivers are advised to expect delays when travelling through the area and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible," the city said in a statement.

Pedestrian and business access will be maintained during the work.

The daily lane restrictions are expected to continue until Friday.
