London police believe there could be more victims after a Nova Scotia man was arrested for sex trafficking women in the city this summer.
Police were called to check on the wellbeing of a woman in the area of Wellington Road and Bradley Avenue on August 28. When officers arrived, the woman told them a man had been holding her against her will in a hotel room.
A man was arrested nearby, police said.
Further investigation found there were additional victims who were forced to perform sexual acts for money in various cities between July 1 and August 28.
Cortez Downey, 26, of Nova Scotia has been charged with material benefit from sexual services, two counts of procuring and exercising control, assault, advertising another person's sexual services and obtaining sexual services for consideration. He remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on November 16.
Investigators suspect there may be more victims and are asking anyone who had similar dealing with Downey, who also goes by the alias "Bon", to call them 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
