Thick fog leads to school bus cancellations in London region

The foggy start to the day Thursday has led to a number of school bus cancellations outside of London.

School buses in Middlesex, Oxford, and Elgin counties and the Red Zone have been cancelled for the morning, according to MyBigYellowBus.ca. The bus cancellations come as Environment Canada has much of southwestern Ontario under a fog advisory. The national weather agency warns visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero, making travel hazardous.

The fog is expected to burn off late in the morning and buses should run as scheduled in the afternoon unless otherwise posted at MyBigYellowBus.ca.

School vehicles in the City of London will operate on time Thursday.
