Police were called about the disturbance at the shelter Monday night. Officers determined two people were arguing when one assaulted the other.
No injuries were reported.
A woman was arrested and has since been charged with one count of assault. She has been released from custody with a future court date.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
