Man found injured after gunfire reported in east London

London police are probing a possible shooting after a man was found injured in the city's east end Friday afternoon.

At around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire on Dundas Street near Wavell Street. Once emergency crews arrived, police say a man was found injured in the area. He was taken to hospital by paramedics, however the extent of his injuries are unknown.

"There will be an increased police presence as the investigation is in its early stages," a statement from the London Police Service read.

Police say more information will be released as it becomes available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
