One arrested in fatal Woodstock stabbing

One person has been arrested following a deadly stabbing in Woodstock.

Woodstock police were called about a dispute on Fyfe Avenue shortly after 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday. When officers arrived on scene they found a 59-year-old suffering from multiple stab wounds. That individual was taken to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

Police launched a "suspicious death" investigation and shortly before noon arrested a 56-year-old Woodstock resident.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no charges have been laid.

Police have reassured the community there is no risk to public safety. A number of officers were expected to remain in the area of Fyfe Avenue throughout the day as the investigation continues.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
