Pedestrian involved in east London collision dies from injuries

A pedestrian seriously hurt in a collision in east London has died from their injuries.

Emergency crews were called to Hamilton Road near Watmar Avenue after the pedestrian was hit around 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

The unidentified individual was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Tuesday morning, London police confirmed the pedestrian had succumbed to their injuries.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.

Hamilton Road between Meadowlily Road North and Watmar Avenue was closed for several hours while officers with the traffic management unit were on scene.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
