One killed in crash southeast of Tillsonburg

One person is dead and another seriously hurt following a crash southeast of Tillsonburg.

Emergency crews were called to the single-vehicle collision on Turkey Point Road at McDowell Road East around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday. Norfolk OPP determined a pickup truck collided with an unoccupied mini-excavator at the side of the road.

A 55-year-old from Otterville was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name has not been released. A second person was taken to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours while OPP technical collision investigators probed the cause of the collision. It was reopened early Friday morning.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
