Teeswater woman charged in sexual assault case from early 00s

Provincial police in North Middlesex County have charged a woman in an alleged sexual assault dating back to the early 2000s.

While few details about the investigation have been provided, police say 47-year-old Andrea Wegg of Teeswater was arrested this week and charged with a single count of sexual exploitation and one count of sexual assault.

"The assaults are reported to have occurred during the early 2000s, and police believe there may be additional victims," a release from the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police read.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 23, 2023.
