OPP investigating suspicious death in Norfolk County

Provincial police in Norfolk County are investigating after a person was found dead inside of a home in Waterford over the weekend.

Police were called about the death at a home at 224 Mechanic St. around 8:20 a.m. on Sunday.

Few details have been released, with police not commenting on the gender or age of the deceased.

The OPP criminal investigation branch has taken over the investigation with help from the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services.

There is not believed to be a threat to public safety, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
