Death of elderly Waterford woman ruled a homicide

A 90-year-old woman found dead inside of a Norfolk County home last weekend was murdered, OPP confirmed Thursday.

Marlene Wilson was found deceased inside a home at 224 Mechanic St. in Waterford around 8:20 a.m. last Sunday.

An autopsy was conducted two days later, the results of which led to Wilson's death being ruled a homicide.

Police have not released the cause of death, but previously stated there is "no threat to public safety."

The investigation is ongoing.
