Pair arrested in Ingersoll drug bust

Two people face charges after a search warrant at an Ingersoll home turned up several illegal drugs and other items.

On Friday, members of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit, along with the West Region Emergency Response Team, conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search at a home on King Street.

During their probe, investigators reportedly turned up unspecified quantities of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, a prohibited device, scales, and a cell phone.

Following the search, police have arrested a 39-year-old Ingersoll woman and a 39-year-old Norwich man.

The woman faces two counts of possession of a schedule I substance and an additional charge of failure to comply with a release order. The man was also charged with possession of a Schedule I substance and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.

Both have been released from police custody and will appear in a Woodstock courtroom at a later date.
