Charges laid in murder of 90-year-old Waterford woman

Police have made an arrest in connection to the murder of 90-year-old Marlene Wilson.

On February 12, Wilson was found deceased inside of a residence at 224 Mechanic St. in Waterford, a community of less than 5,000 in northeast Norfolk County. Officers deemed the death as suspicious, and after an autopsy was performed, they ruled Wilson's death as a homicide.

Police have yet to reveal the cause of death.

On Saturday, Norfolk County OPP announced that an arrest had been made in connection to the woman's death.

Police say 34-year-old Jordaine Anthony Lewis Wilson of Norfolk County has been charged with First Degree Murder.

OPP confirmed in a Tweet that the suspect is the grandson of the victim.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
