London man vacation bound after $250K lotto win

Fantastic and surreal is how a London man describes his $250,000 lottery win.

David Cornell won the top prize in an Instant Diamond Club he purchased at the Pond Mills Variety on Commissioners Road. The 37-year-old construction worker said he selected the $20 lotto game to play based on the large size of the ticket.

"I thought you must win big with a ticket this big,” said Cornell.

Sitting with his wife in a local Tim Hortons, Cornell discovered his six-figure win.

"We were both shocked. We didn’t think it was real until I scanned it on the OLG App," said Cornell. “I always told my wife that I used up all my luck on her... But now, I can say I was lucky enough to win. It’s overwhelming in the most exciting way."

Cornell plans to take a vacation with his wife and invest the remainder of his winnings.
