Replica gun seized after shots fired in east London

An investigation into gunfire heard in east London ended with a replica gun seized and a 24-year-old man charged.

A person called 911 after hearing what they believed to be gunshots outside of a home on Whitney Street southeast of the intersection of Dundas and Second streets around 1:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Police took a man into custody shortly after arriving on scene. A replica gun was also seized.

No injuries were reported, police said.

A 24-year-old London man is charged with one count of possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charge on March 21.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
