Motorcyclist seriously hurt in parking garage crash

A woman is fighting for life after a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the parking garage of a downtown apartment building.

Emergency crews were called to the garage at 396 Queens Ave., just west of Colborne Street, around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.

The motorcyclist, an adult woman, was taken to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

"The investigation is in its early stages and has been reassigned to members of the traffic management unit," London police said in a statement issued Monday morning.

This was one of three serious collisions in the region over the weekend. One person was killed when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Kerwood Road and Melwood Drive near Strathroy Saturday afternoon. Another crash Sunday night shutdown Adelaide Street between Windermere Road and Huron Street and the eastbound lanes of Kipps Lane in London. London police have not released how many vehicles were involved or the severity of injuries in that collision.

All three crashes remain under investigation.
