A day after one person was hurt in an attack involving a hammer at a northeast London high school, charges have been laid.
London police were called about one male assaulting another with a weapon at Montcalm Secondary School on Highbury Avenue North around 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Police initially wouldn't comment on what type of weapon was used in the attack, but on Friday said a hammer was seized by officers.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
An 18-year-old London man is charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on Friday.
The accused and the victim were known to each other, police said.
