Driver critically hurt in crash west of Aylmer

A single-vehicle crash west of Aylmer over the weekend has left a 33-year-old fighting for life in hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the collision on Talbot Line (Highway 3) east of Rogers Road in Malahide Township just before 5 p.m. on Saturday. It was determined a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed through a fence.

The driver, a 33-year-old from Delhi, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of Monday, that individual was still listed in critical condition, Elgin OPP said.

Talbot was temporarily closed while police investigated the collision.
