Vehicle driven into group of people, one hurt

A 21-year-old is facing charges after a vehicle was driven into a group of people in Woodstock.

Woodstock police were called about a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle in the area of South Alley and Light Street around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday.

When officers arrived they determined there had been a confrontation with the group of people, before a person drove into a parked vehicle and then into the group. One person was hit, but the extent of their injuries was not released by police.

A Woodstock resident, 21, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous driving, and failure to stop after a crash.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
