Passengers unharmed after helicopter crash north of London

Neither of the two people on board a private helicopter were injured when the aircraft came crashing down in a field north of London on Wednesday morning.

Members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the area of Eight Mile Road and Wonderland Road in Middlesex Centre around 10:34 a.m.

The chopper went down due to a "mechanical failure," according to police.

Two people were inside the helicopter at the time of the crash, but police said they were able to escape the aircraft uninjured.

Middlesex County OPP confirm that the helicopter has been removed from the scene and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified about Wednesday's incident.
