Woman charged in Port Stanley stabbing

Charges have been laid after a person was stabbed in Port Stanley over the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Stanley Street around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived they found a person suffering from a non-life threatening stab wound. That individual was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 36-year-old Port Stanley woman was arrested. She has been charged with assault with a weapon and is scheduled to appear in court on June 13.

The investigation is ongoing, Elgin OPP said.
