37-year-old charged in St. Thomas assault

St. Thomas police say one person is facing charges after an assault at a home in the city.

Police were called about an altercation at a residence on Wellington Street on Thursday.

Officers determined that an argument turned physical with a person attacked with a weapon.

A 37-year-old resident was arrested and has since been charged with one count of assault with a weapon. That individual has since been released from police custody with a future court date.

There is no word on the extent of any injuries.

Police did not specify what type of weapon was used in the attack.
