Elderly man injured in confrontation with two youths

St. Thomas police responded early Sunday morning to an incident in which a homeowner said he was attacked by multiple youths.

Police were called to a neighbourhood on the south end of the city for the alleged assault. 

Officers learned through investigation that the victim, an elderly man, had confronted two young people whom he believed were trying to enter vehicles in the area. 

“The confrontation turned physical,” according to St. Thomas police. 

The elderly man suffered minor injuries that were later treated in hospital.

Officials continue to investigate this incident.
