House fire that killed two dogs and a cat deemed accidental

Damage is pegged at $100,000 after a weekend house fire in east London.

Firefighters were called to the home on Chesley Avenue, north of Hamilton Road around 10:30 p.m. on Friday.

The family was able to escape without injury prior to the arrival of fire crews.

A cat was found dead inside the home while two dogs pulled from the fire died after a "valiant effort by multiple firefighters doing CPR," the London Fire Department wrote on social media.

One firefighter was taken to hospital with a minor hand injury.

The cause of the fire has been deemed accidental, fire officials said.
