Alleged impaired driver crashes into Woodstock home

Impaired driving charges have been laid after an early morning crash that saw a vehicle slam into a house in Woodstock.

Emergency crews were called to the collision on Main Street near Douglas Street around 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

There are reports a gas line was severed when the vehicle hit the home. Nearby residences and businesses were evacuated as a precaution.

No injuries have been reported.

A 28-year-old Woodstock man was arrested at the scene, Woodstock police said.

That individual has been charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs and refusal to comply with demand.

Main Street between Butler and Mill streets was closed for several hours. It was reopened around 1:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
