One killed in single-vehicle crash southwest of London

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.

Oneida Nation police, the Chippewas of the Thames police, Middlesex OPP, paramedics, and firefighters were called to the serious collision on Hazel Road just before 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Police determined a vehicle had gone off the road and hit a tree.

The driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of that individual has not been released as police are working to notify next-of-kin.

A section of Hazel Road was closed for several hours. It has since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
