London cop assaulted removing trespasser from business

A 50-year-old London woman is facing charges after a police officer was assaulted Monday afternoon.

London police had been called about a woman trespassing at a business on Commissioners Road East, just east of Adelaide Street around 12:30 p.m. Officers directed the woman to leave the area, but she refused.

The woman is then alleged to have assaulted one of the officers. She was arrested and has since been charged with one count of assaulting a peace officer. The woman is scheduled to appear in court on June 28.

The officers did not suffer any physical injury, police said.
