London woman with kids in car charged with impaired driving

Two young kids were inside a vehicle whose driver was pulled over for impaired driving, according to Aylmer police.

It was around noon on Monday when police received a call from a concerned person about a suspected impaired driver on Talbot Street.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle. Inside they found open containers of alcohol and cannabis and two passengers under the age of ten.

The driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters where a breath test determined she had nearly twice the legal amount of alcohol in her system.

A 38-year-old London woman is charged with impaired driving offences and having liquor and cannabis readily available. She has been released from police custody with a future court date.

The two children were turned over to the care of a relative.
